Please forgive my repetition on this subject matter, especially if this is viewed by Kody. I have already emailed him with the following question but I'm looking for an answer (he has been very responsive by the way with all my emails in regards to the propeller, attaching useful photos).
I have purchased the scimitar propeller for my A2200 that has the no-extension prop flange. It is an earlier 2200, serial 22A - 981. It should arrive very shortly. I'm concerned with the clearance of the prop flange and the engine block installing the hub fasteners through the rear of the prop flange. They look quite long. I'd rather not get the extension if the Jab spinner I purchased with the propeller has the proper gap to the cowling - which I believe is ok with its current no-extension prop flange . As an alternative, is it acceptable to install the hub fasteners opposite - nut on the back of the prop flange, bolt head to the front? Sensenich has that orientation with a similar design as Jab's. I realize that you may have engineering reasons for this configuration. And as I already mentioned to Kody, I may be overthinking this ...

Kody did ask me about this. And it is fine however when you torque the bolts you need have the torque wrench on the nut.. This can be tricky with the bolts coming in from the front. Anyway see how you go.

I installed the propeller on the prop flange and noticed that when I torqued the AN5 hub bolts to 12 ft/lb, the hub halves butt together; eliminating any gap as per the manual. By the way, the machining is spot on as I had a HELL of a time aligning everything - in other words, very tight tolerances.That's a good thing in my mind.
The propeller received was assembled at the factory/vendor and all I did was loosen the AN 4 bolts to adjust the propeller pitch. According to the manual, there should be a nominal 1mm gap between the hubs. The manua also states that if there isn't, it's an assembly issue. Any recommendations? Please see the attached marked up drawing from the manual indicating where the gap is pulled in.

Can you tell me is it touching one side of the prop hub and the other side has a wider gap? What can happen is that it can pull to one side during torqueing. If this is the case, loosen off the AN5 bolts and check if the gap is between the halves is even. If it is not adjust by loosing the AN4 bolt on the narrow location and tightening on the wide side but don't exceed recommended torque.
Then do the same thing with the AN5 bolts. Tightened to maintain even gap until recommend torque is reached.

Thanks for the rapid reply! I'll check both sides as recommended. Oh, and my the concerns about the clearance of the AN5 being installed to the rear of the prop hub was not an issue. I was able to install the bolts with a little bit of maneuvering.
