Hello

We have a Jabiru 230 with the Jabiru 3300 engine. I’m more familiar with Lycoming engines and still learning about the Jabiru. Recently our Jabiru starting running rough upon starting and after about 5 min would smooth out. Also the #2 cylinder CHT would be a little slow to rise. I’m going to check compressions next. Anyone have any other pointers? Also the #2 EGT has been erratic as well. It read low yesterday, so I swapped probes with the #4 cylinder and after running the #2 cylinder jumped up to 1700. I’m thinking possibly a bad sender for the EGT. Thanks for any help!

Hello ITPmech,

Faulty egt probes are not uncommon.  Ones of the signs of a faulty probe is an unreasonably low reading.

I don't know what generation engine you have, but sometime on a the hydraulic lifter models an hydraulic lifter can leak down and they take 5 minutes or so to refill after a cold start.
