I can read in KITS/J430 KIT that MTOW is 760Kg and not 700Kg. Is that true, and if true does it apply to all of the J430 ? Mine is number 452.

Thanks

Hello Serge,

Yes all J430's can be upgraded to 760kg.  There is some requirements. The wing attachment bolts need to 5/16".  And the placards needed to be changed to match those in the latest J430 flight manual.  (basically changed to show 760kg MTOW).

Hi, concerning the increase in J430 MTOW from 700kg to 760kg, how does this change the CG envelope? What are the revised CG limits and will the trim system cope with the change ok?

I presume in the UK the agreement with the Light Aircraft Association will have to be obtained to authorize the change.

Hello @Airfix430,

The envelope gets extended up. The fore and aft limits don't change.  And yes the trim system copes ok.

And yes a discussion would have to be had with the LAA to authorise the the change is my understanding.  It would probably involve us suppling some justification.  I'm am unsure if there is any things that may cause problems, such as stall speed.

Let me ask you, how much does such a modification increase fuel consumption?
