Greetings Jab support. I performed a leak down test on my 2200A and, after removal of the head and cylinder barrel, I found that #2 compression ring was stuck due to carbon buildup (could be lead as well). As this is being done in situ, would you have a recommendation for the best compression tool to use and any suggestions as technique is concerned? I used the following quick release tool and found it ineffective to compress the oil ring on top of being very difficult to use. Thanks in advance!
We can't recommend any particular ring compressor, as we use a custom tool here for production. We have customers that have had success with smooth ring compressors as shown in the picture. Can't say if it would be any easier to use than yours.
