I am looking for the operating oil pressure for the 3300 engine. I did read that the max pressure when hydraulic lifters are in place is 350 kPa so that means operating pressure somewhere between 200 and 300 kPa. How do I know if my engine has hydraulic lifters apart from opening up? Also somebody said that there is a SB re reducing this pressure from a higher value down to this say 250 kPa. I could not find that SB. My engine no 33A 913 installed in 2006.

Hi Rob, The back of the overhaul manual has a list of major mods vs serial number. Looks like Hydraulic 3300 engines started at S/No. 961 so yours should be solid - assuming it hasn't had a major re-build at some point. There are a few visual differences you can see from the outside of the engine - the most obvious are the little alloy bosses on the hydraulic engines where the pushrod tubes meet the crankcase.
Assuming your engine is a solid lifter type you should be checking/adjusting the rockers every 50 hours - details are in the engine maintenance manuals available from www.jabiru.net.au/service/manuals .
Regards, Doug.
