I understand the air intake on the Jab 230 is being moved from the NACA scoop to a 60mm diameter perpendicular hole behind this with improvements in CHT distribution?  Is this correct and what is the exact position?

Can this mod be done to an LSA registered Jab 230?

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

Yes and yes.  Suggest you contact Jabiru direct by phone or email for details, approvals etc.

Doug.

Hi Alan,

Did you get the answer as to the exact position and dimension of the air intake?

I'm very interested in any improvment for my french registred FPASH J430 and have plenty of time now that I'm retired.

By the way, doesn't this new air intake improve ETG distribution rather than CHT one?

I would appreciate any help.

Regards,

Serge

If anyone wants details of the intake position please please contact Jabiru Aircraft.

One of the main reasons for this change is that ram air pressure effects the Bing carburettor in a negative way.  (EGT spread and high egt).

That's a good decision. I've seen a similar one with my mate.
