I run 93UL/no ethanol mogas in my 3300 (430 hrs). Occasionally, it will diesel or run-on for a few seconds after shut-down. I've found that if I let the engine idle for a few minutes prior to shut-down it will rarely diesel. I assume the dieseling is due to hot carbon deposits. My plugs, however, looked good at the last inspection. I can manage the dieseling pretty good by idling the engine, but I'm concerned that if excessive carbon is present, this could lead to valve or ring damage! Would it be advisable to use a fuel system cleaner such as Chevron Techron ( a fuel detergent based on PEA, polyeter amine) to clean up some of the carbon? If so, what concentration to use and how frequently to use it? Thanks, |

As I'm operating mostly on turf runways, I do use a bit of power to taxi, but the taxi distance is fairly short. It might not be of much value to try the cleaner, but would there be any potential harm? |
