Hi all,

I'm certain I'm not the first to have contemplated this, and figured I could learn from someone else's findings.

The obvious restricting factor is the nose wheel trailing arm. Does anyone know of an aftermarket one that accommodates for a larger diameter (and width) tire? Alternatively, an extended steering arm would utilize all the original components, however raise the nose to match the increase diameter of the mains..

Any thoughts/pointers/links or even abuse would be greatly appreciated.

Can I put 600- 6 6ply on the mains as I find the 500 -6 6ply are to small for our strip? and leave the nose wheel as is?

Hello Warwick,

I haven't heard of anyone trying that.  And we haven't tried it here at jabiru.  I guess it would make it hard to wheelbarrow it in....

Hi there, I added the larger tyres 600-6  6ply and they are great. alot smoother in the taxi and roll.

fixed the height of the nose wheel by making a new shock absorber rod 18 mm longer and made a bush to match also 18mm long.

brings the nose up to the level position (it still has the 500 - 6  6ply on) Very very happy   Warwick
