Hello, getting ready for annual, (xmas got in the way) , looking at the Brakes generally, this has the 2 Caliper, see photo,
these have done about 130 landings, and bit used, ! this was the heavy duty disk rotar, fitted 2011,
are these available ? and pads,

is this reasonable option? for now,

looking at the current manual it shows the single caliper assy,

whats the options ?

thanks,

Hi Terence,
Brakes are one of those things that tend to look a bit second-hand even when they're working fine, particularly if they're inside wheel spats, which allow the dust to accumulate. The functional things to check, per the Technical Manual, are pad wear, security/wear on bolts, leaks etc. I suspect that, given a wash with some warm soapy water, yours would come up fine - though I can't see the state of the pads from those shots.

We'll have spares to suit your system if you need them... as for upgrades, I believe that the newer single caliper system performs fairly much the same as your dual caliper system; its advantages are reduced weight/parts count and easier maintenance. Happy to arrange a quote for an upgrade kit if you're interested!

Regards,
Doug.

Doug hi,

yes , but one look at the Disk Rotar (and I have seen a lot on race car and bikes ! ) these are a lovely blue black, and very average, and will probably need replacing,

the pads are ok thickness, but i will have a clean up and see, I think also needs replacing,

how do i pull up the part numbers ,? and prices, ?

Terence,

Ah, I see.

The part numbers should be in the Technical Manual... if you're not confident that what's shown will fit your aircraft you can supply a picture of the old part when getting a cost for the new. You can call or contact @jabiru.net.au">info@jabiru.net.au and they'll be able to put something together for you.

Regards,
Doug.
