Hi
I recently bought a Murphy Maverick with a Jabiru 2200A engine. Can you advise at what level I should aim to keep the oil? I am assuming that the advice to maintain the level mid way between the top and bottom marks probably applies to nose wheel aircraft which sit level whereas mine is a tail dragger and sits at quite a steep angle so more oil will be at the back of the sump and less under the dipstick. Any advice welcome

Hi Martin,
You're right, the level markings apply when the engine is level (ish). It does vary a bit so your best bet is to spend a little time either re-marking your dip stick or make a new one - the aim being to have marks which equate to the marks on the standard part but for when the aircraft is on the tailwheel. From memory it's a length of 3mm or eighth stainless steel rod and can be pushed out of the nylon cap easily enough.

I'm also told your aircraft isn't showing up on our owners register... if you can shoot those details through to us we'll add you to the mailing list for service bulletins etc.
Regards,
Doug

Hi Max,
Your best bet is to email @jabiru.net.au">info@jabiru.net.au with your details (name, address, email address, model and serial number of your aircraft / engine). That way if you're not already on the list you soon will be!
Regards,
Doug.
