Hacman installed in a Jabiru 3300A

Works great on my 3300A. I use only in cruise above 8000' msl.(The Bing carb is altitude compensated up to 8000' msl.) DO NOT TOUCH the throttle while the HACMAN is in use the engine WILL stop. It will start right back up once the HACKMAN is shut off. This will definitely get your attention. I would not use it unless you can monitor each cylinder CHT and EGT while leaning. I have gotten as low as 3.7 gph fuel consumption at altitude and 2750 rpm. Make sure to shut off HACMAN at the end of cruise before decent. HACMAN means "high altitude compensation - manual".

And I always thought it had something to do with “hacking” the Bing Carb 😀

@noel-olebos   Well, did not get a chance to further investigate the HACMAN. The trip to Oshkosh went great. Climbed to 13K for about 45 min to get over one portion of the Rockies without any issues. With a good tailwind we made it all the way to Nebraska and spent the night at the local FBO. Arrived at OSH just in time for a 45 minute delay due to a large group arrival. Landed at nearby Portage to refuel and wait out the delay. After thirty minutes for refuel, noticed a big line of weather moving from the North. Decided to push and we arrived just as they reopened for general arrival. I was the third to last plane to land before they closed again for the incoming weather. Ground marshallers ran up as I was taxing to the experimental parking and yelled to turn into the wind, bring flaps up, shut down, and hold on. Then it was like a fire hose opened up and got pummeled with wind and rain for about 45 min. But got to go park after things calmed down and had a great time. Check one off the bucket list. Flew home 5 days later, went over the Rockies in between a few small thunderstorms and made it home in 2 days. Did I say I just love my Jab?
