I have undercutting of the alloy immediately adjacent to the exhaust valve seats probably due to detonation. I was told by the Jabiru factory that heads for my engine are now obsolete. Damage is is minimal. Is it ok to have the heads weld repaired?

Welding the heads isn't a factory approved procedure, no. The welded material and the weld heat affected zone will be essentially in the annealed condition so will be significantly softer than the rest of the head, making it more likely that a seat may drop out. It makes a horrible mess when that happens so I'd say no 🙂
