Any tips on removing the spacers from the front axel on a J120?

Appear frozen/rusted on, need to replace the tyre.

Hi Frank,

The central axle is continuous through the wheel so in theory, if you place the wheel assembly on something that supports the spacer but not the axle then you can drive or press it out.  Wouldn't hurt to hit it with some penetrating lube beforehand too.  A bit of heat from a little burner or similar (carefully applied of course) might help break it loose too.

Regards,

Doug.

Was frozen solid.  Ended up damaging spacer & axel.   Saved wheel & bearings from any damage and now all good with a new axel and spacers.

(even after removal from the wheel, still unable to move spacer on axel bolt in a vice - certainly well and truly frozen on)
