Hi,
There has been a lot of talking about the use of iridium spark plugs in Jabiru engines, 2200 & 3300, but I have not seen any test data to confirm the choice.
What is the recommendation?
Thanks,
Naftali.

Hi Naftali,
Our recommendation is to use the "standard" D9EA plugs: they're generally very reliable if serviced according to the manual and we've been unable to verify any meaningful performance or life advantage to. Plus replacing 8 or 12 plugs every 100 hours can be very expensive using Iridiums.
Regards,
Doug.

Regarding spark plug types, I have been using NGK 4772 DR9EIX SINGLE IRIDIUM PLUGS as was the previous owner.I renewed plugs at 480 hours and have now done 170 hours on these new plugs and no sign of mag drops.I know that they are a lot more expensive but I am reluctant to revert to the recommended type.Avgas has always been used as the preferred fuel and have always used 15W 50 Aeroshell oil.Last price of plugs per plug in 2013 was $8,06 US.
