Engine shudder at end of climb 1 year 3 months ago#488

Hi Today when I throttled back to cruise setting at end of climb to 8,500ft. The aircraft gave a brief shudder. It appeared to come from the front of the aircraft and was very brief (1 or 2 seconds) and then stopped. All readings were normal and continued to remain so for the remainder of the flight. I checked compressions when on the ground and all were good and no unusual sounds were evident. Any ideas? |

Hi Harry, The mixture from the carb also goes a little funny for a second or two after a sudden power adjustment - after all it's controlled by both the pilot (throttle) and engine (air mass flow rate etc) so it can take a moment to sort things out when one or the other of those inputs is suddenly changed.
