Was recently made aware of the benefits, and an easy way to achieve pos results....

I selected the subaru product ( weaker ) as a starter. Followed the directions to the letter. The change was really noticeable...i've never seen over 3050 on climbout, which was OK........Now 3300+, and sounds great.

At cruise was 2850ish, i was using 15 there abouts, 93kts IAS..................NOW 2800 revs, using 14 litres p/h, 98kts IAS.

Cost $20 at soob dealer..............( couple of locals have been dosing their jabs for some yrs, swear by it, i've joined the group )

Yes mate........just go to your local subaru dealer, am told it's widely used in their servicing dept. Other brands are out there ( repco, super cheap etc etc )........they are stronger, i opted for the weaker, and soob do have a good reputation as well.

Was surprised how a couple of hundred extra revs gave the engine some bite......it felt ( engine ) real happy. .......R

Seems there's an additive for every occasion these days! Just remember that we can't test them (not enough $ and time in the world!) and so we can't warrant them...

You need to be careful when testing stuff like this, the placebo effect makes it hard to be properly rational on it. If you're doing back to back testing then you need to be really careful that everything is the same - same test altitude (The difference between TAS and IAS increases by about 2kt per 1000 feet), same air temperature, same aircraft weight, same test procedure, same everything. The laws of physics say that, all other things being equal, less prop RPM will give you less speed. If your results are indicating otherwise then there's a problem with the test method.

Anyhow, sounds like you're having fun with the plane which is absolutely the main thing 🙂

Regards,
Doug.
