In the newer version of the 3300 intake manifold, what is the diameter of the two vertical flow diverters? (Those which replaced the airfoil shape in the original manifold design.)

Hi Ron,
They're 20mm nominal diameter.
Why do you want to know that? I wouldn't recommend altering an older machined plenum to that configuration (unless you've got all the instrumentation and lots of time). You can often get counterintuitive results from changes in that area and it's easy to do damage down the line. Not to mention the category / warranty rules you might bend.
Doug.

Thanks. Of course, I understand your concerns, however, I've already successfully modified my old intake manifold to achieve a more uniform mixture distribution which has yielded great improvement in reducing EGT spreads. The changes included porting the interior cavity shape and changing from the airfoil to a (single) round diverter shape. Although I'm very happy with my particular results already, and doubt I can improve upon it very much, the reason I ask is simply an ongoing curiosity about optimization of the diverter diameter, a parameter that's been widely discussed elsewhere.

Ah I see. Sounds like you've done your homework and have the instruments to make sure you don't damage anything - which is the key when doing any tuning mods.
Enjoy!
